Getting Around

One Day Old

Luna is an attentive, proud Mama. With only 2 pups, she can give them loads of attention; licking, feeding, and cuddling. Both pups get lotsa milk, so they are already quite fat!

Birth Day!

The first puppy was born at 1:40 am, 2 hours ago. Alex was on duty, came up and said "Mama, puppy!" This one is a male, already dubbed "Squeaky."

The second one was born at 2:50, a female, lighter and larger than the male.

Whelping Box

Luna is all ready to go in her new box. Very spiffy. 1st stage labor has been going on since Monday night at 10 pm.

5 days to go

About 5 days til whelping. Luna is not particularly large, but is bottom heavy, and runs awkardly. The pendulum predicts said she will give birth between 4 and 6 pm on Wednesday June 28. 3 females and 1 or 2 males. So this is a good test to see if pendulums can be trusted. : )
She is doing great, and no signs of nesting yet, but we better get in gear and have her whelping box done by tomorrow.
